MISSION & VISION.
Mission:
WNY CCAT educates, investigates, plans, strategizes, and advocates for the needs of the Child Care Community — including children, families, providers, employers, and businesses. We tackle urgent issues in real-time to create long-term solutions that make lasting impact.
Vision:
We envision a child care system where the real voices — parents, educators, and child care professionals — are centered in every decision that affects their lives. We fight for justice, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism in funding, policy, and operations.
HISTORY.
WNY CCAT was born in November 2019 out of a shared frustration with top-down decisions in child care policy that left out the people who live and breathe this work daily. Ruth, Sofia, and Vonetta came together to change that. What started as a grassroots call for equity has grown into a force that moves systems, shapes legislation, and builds power across Western New York.
